  Corporate News Headline
Infrastructure Development Finance Company is planning to raise up to Rs. 34 bn through the issue of long-term bonds and the public offer is likely to open in the first week of October. (BS)
GAIL (India) Ltd, which got spot liquefied natural gas cargo in western India, plans to import more such parcels this year, its chairman said. (BS)
Crisil said it will buy US-based knowledge process outsourcing firm Pipal Research Corporation for USD 12.75 mn. Crisil has entered into an agreement to purchase the business of Pipal, whose clientele includes companies from the technology and financial services sector, Crisil said in a statement. (BS)

  Economic and Political Headline
The Finance Ministry and Reserve Bank of India officials will tomorrow finalise the schedule for government borrowings for H2'11, taking into account the credit needs of the economy in the festive season. Finance Secretary Ashok Chawla and RBI Deputy Governor Shyamala Gopinath among other officials will decide on market borrowings for the next half, pegged in the union budget at Rs 1.7 tn. (BS)
European industrial orders declined more than economists forecast in July, led by a drop in capital goods such as factory machinery. Orders in the 16-nation euro area decreased 2.4% from June, when they rose 2.4%, the European Union's statistics office said. (Bloomberg)
US home prices dropped 3.3% in July from a year earlier, the eighth consecutive decline, as foreclosed properties flooded the market. Prices fell 0.5% from June, the Federal Housing Finance Agency in Washington said. (Bloomberg)
