Corporate News Headline
TCS reported Q3'09 results, total revenue rose 24.13% yoy to Rs. 72.77 bn, and net profit increased 2.68% yoy to Rs. 13.62 bn. (BS)
Satyam's board has been further expanded by the government as it has appointed Confederation of Indian Industry chief mentor Tarun Das, former Institute of Chartered Accountants of India president TN Manoharan, and LIC´s S Balakrishan. (ET)

Inflation declined to 5.24% for the week ended January 03, 2009, primarily due to decline in prices of food articles. (BS)
Prices paid to the US producers fell 1.9% in December 2008 capping the first annual decrease in seven years, as demand for raw materials collapsed with the deepening recession. (Bloomberg)
The inflation rate in the Euro area fell to 1.6% from 2.1% in November 2008 as energy prices fell and consumers cut spending, giving the European Central Bank scope to lower interest rates to tackle the deepening recession. (Bloomberg)
